Installing CommandKit Wireless Smart Wall Switch

  1. Find your breaker box and turn off the circuit breaker connected to this switch.

  1. Remove the wall plate from your existing switch

  1. Remove the switch from the wall

  1. Disconnect wires from the switch as shown below

 

Note: your CommandKit Smart Wireless Wall Switch requires a neutral wire. Please consult an electrician if you don’t have the neutral wire in the junction box.

 

 

  1. Remove the load, line, and ground wires from your switch or wire nuts. Be sure to identify the load and line wires. This is needed when you connect the CommandKit Smart Wireless Wall Switch.

*Please note that if there are more than two wires connect to your switch (excluding the bare or green ground wire) you must refer to 3-way installation section.

 

 

  1. Wiring your CommandKit Smart Wireless Wall Switch

TIP:

To ensure proper connection, first twist wires together. Then push the wire nut over the two wires as you twist it clockwise two-three times. Ensure the wire nut completely covers the exposed part of the wires.

  1. Using the provided wire nuts, connect the ground (green or copper) wire from your CommandKit Smart Wireless Wall Switch to the ground (green or copper) wire from the junction box.
  2. Using the provided wire nuts, connect the black wire form the CommandKit Smart Wireless Wall Switch to the line wire
  3. Using the included wire nuts, connect the white wire from the CommandKit Smart Wireless Wall Switch to neural (white) wires in the junction box. Be sure to include all the white wires that were connected.

  1. Rearrange all the wires safely into the junction box. Ensure that there are no exposed wires. Mount your CommandKit Smart Wireless Wall Switch using the existing screw holes and screws. Snap the included wall plate over your CommandKit Smart Wireless Wall Switch
  2. Turn the circuit breaker back on
  3. Hold he power button for 3 seconds, a blue light on your CommandKit Smart Wireless Wall Switch will begin to flash after a few seconds. Your CommandKit Smart Wireless Wall Switch is now ready to pair.

NOTE: If this light does not begin to flash, turn the circuit breaker off and remove the wall plate and your CommandKit Smart Wireless Wall Switch. Check the wiring to make sure all wires are connected correctly.
